KUALA LUMPUR: In a rapidly evolving job market, preparing the talents of tomorrow is paramount. Forest Interactive Foundation has taken the lead with the launch of its insightful Career Immersion Program on October 24, 2023, at Kolej Komuniti Selayang.

Designed to empower students and equip them with the skills, knowledge, and connections necessary to excel in their chosen fields, this program embodies one of Forest Interactive Foundation’s core pillars, Empowered Communities.
Addressing the need to develop and nurture competent and resilient talents for various industries, the program encompassed a wide range of holistic activities designed to guide students on their career journey. These activities included career talks, providing insights into various career paths, the skills and qualifications required for those careers, and an overview of the opportunities and challenges present in these fields. The program was attended by 116 students in total from various educational institutions.
Industry Insights & Skills Development
One of the primary objectives of the Career Immersion Program is to provide students with in-depth industry insights. By understanding the job market and the specific skills in demand across different sectors, participants can better prepare themselves into competitive candidates.
In one program session, Forest Interactive’s CEO, Johary Mustapha, highlighted the significance of staying attuned to industry trends and fostering students' competitiveness in their chosen careers, further underscoring the importance of thinking outside the box when delving into job placements to enhance excellence and nurture passion.
Broadening Horizons with Industry Sessions
The one-day program also offered students opportunities to connect with professionals in their chosen fields, paving the way for future job opportunities, offering a deeper understanding of the industry, and providing critical guidance on their career journey.
Divided into five unique sessions, each module focused on specific career paths and industry insights, led by talents from Forest Interactive, who offered attendees real-time, fresh perspectives of their respective fields:
- Emerging Field of UI/UX: Delve into the dynamic world of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design and explore the growing demand for these skills in various industries.
- Embarking On Photography & Videography Careers: Discover the exciting prospects in the creative industry, specifically within photography and videography careers.
- Animation & Video Editing: Gain insights into the creative industry's animation and video editing fields and learn about the skills required to excel in these roles.
- Careers in the Creative Industry: Learn about diverse opportunities within the creative sector and the skills necessary to thrive in this competitive field.
- Employability Skills in the Workplace: Equip students with essential soft skills required to succeed in a professional work environment. Gain insights into fitting into workplace culture, effective networking, and seeking assistance when needed.
“I had an opportunity to ask course-related questions and gained valuable insights in the field I want to pursue. The session was informative,” states Nurul Hasna, an Animation student at Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA).
“I find immense joy in sharing my knowledge and experiences with others. Engaging in activities like this not only enhances knowledge but also allows for valuable experience exchange. I believe that events like this should be organized more frequently,” shares Maulana Qadry, Senior Video Producer at Forest Interactive.
